Dear Families,
WOW! What a year it has been for our school and community! We are so grateful that this has been such an amazing year filled with so many activities and successes. From the beginning of the year to the final days before summer, it has been a pleasure to witness firsthand the dedication, passion, and tireless efforts of the entire school community, from the teachers and staff to the families at CDM. Together, we help make our school a place where everyone feels supported and appreciated.
As the end of the 2023-24 school year approaches, your CdM PTA Board thanks you for your commitment to excellence. We were happy to help on campus and continue many longstanding events as well as a few new things!

As the end of the 2022-23 school year approaches, your CdM PTA Board thanks you for your commitment to excellence. We were happy to help on campus and continue many longstanding events as well as a few new things!
Here are highlights of the ways we served the community this year:
● Our Community came together and celebrated our 49th Annual CdM HOME TOUR. Our theme was “Endless Possibilities”. This event was our MOST SUCCESSFUL ONE EVER and proved there are endless possibilities when we come together as a community! Gina Jaha and her incredible team, along with our sponsors, homeowners, and underwriters, made us happy to see 7 homes, shop the boutique, see students perform at the Civic Center, enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch, and celebrate at the after-party! Most importantly, funds were raised that support students, teachers, and staff every day.
● 564 members make up our CdM PTA Family! Your membership dues, along with proceeds from the Home Tour, make so many things possible. THANK YOU!
● Our partnership with our parent leadership groups and Principals! We are grateful to collaborate with the other parent leadership groups and Principals throughout the year on ways to support the school and the overall experience at CDM. Thank you, Christy Smith, John Jenkins, Amber Snider, Julia Demlow, Cherie Sharpe, Principals Dr. Haley, and Dr. Gogel for a successful year in partnership!
● CdM PTA volunteers greeted visitors and answered phones in the Middle and High School offices. Thanks to Christy Smith, Jessica Susolik, and Elise Goldberg for organizing your teams of helpers!
● Teacher Grants totaled more than $16,500 for a variety of items including whiteboards, stand-up desks, classroom technology, art supplies, food for Mandarin classes, drones for the turf management class, SRC furniture maintenance, furniture for Trident TV and so much more!
● The Middle School Counseling Zen Den continues to provide support for students with snacks and items needed throughout the year.
● Our annual PTA Holiday Party for teachers, staff, and parents was held at a beautiful home in Big Canyon, thanks to Bonnie Lee and Justin Pham.
● Well-fed and caffeinated teachers are happy teachers! Thanks to our team for providing a back-to-school Italian Luncheon, a Teacher Appreciation BBQ Lunch, and an End-of-the-Year breakfast with goodies for all. It takes a village and we love our village!
● Thousands (and THOUSANDS) of donuts were purchased, delivered, and distributed by our volunteers to students on campus who enjoyed the delicious treats. Thanks Donut Divas!
● A celebration for 14 amazing volunteers occurred at the Honorary Service Awards Ceremony. Some of the most dedicated members of our community were recognized, including administrators, teachers, coaches, and volunteers. Thank you to Tracy Allen and her team.
● We brought back the parent book club and speakers for parent support! Thank you Ruth Kobayashi for hosting our book club and Kirstin Anglade for coordinating important speakers for our parents!
● NEW Campus Enhancements and School Support have happened this year and more to come! We were able to fund a portable sound system for the field for multi-use for sports and dance/cheer programs, customized windscreens /wraps and banners around campus for the continued goal of enhancing our campus aesthetics, Mural Painting- Finishing off the side of the gym and murals around campus, new awnings for the tennis courts for PE classes and various sports, TV for the counseling office, avenue banners for the pool/admin lot, HP DesignJet T650 36-in printer for our Robotics Program and new TV’s for the Big Gym. It is going to be fun to return to school in the fall and see all of the amazing upgrades!
● 31 Scholarships were given to outstanding Seniors at their Awards Night. Each of the students received $500 to use toward their further education plans. Thank you to the dedicated committee. We also provided balloon decorations, cookies, and water for the fun evening and award certificates.
● We provided funds for the Academy of Global Studies (AGS), PAMA, and the Engineering and Design Pathway.
● CdM Pride Awards (formerly Sea King Pride) returned in style, with more than 300 people in attendance for lunch on campus. Students in grades 7-12 were honored for their character as recognized by a teacher, staff member, or administrator. Thank you to Colleen Gurney and her team!
● Volunteers helped staff at registration and with checking in and checking out textbooks to kids.
● Volunteers organized and judged senior projects (WOW!) and proctored many AP Exams!
● Coffee and treats at PTA meetings were ready for everyone, thanks to Mary Delahanty.
● PRIDE and INFO shared via our social media. Do you follow us on CdM PRIDE and CdMPTA?!
